This home successfully solved a problem of what many thought was impossible. The heavily wooded site on which this home was built included a very steep grade or ravine. An important factor to the client was to keep the natural surroundings intact. Therefore, heavy timber columns were used to overcome the steep grade and set the home within the trees. A total of six columns were recycled from the Kansas City stockyards.
